New York City Gynecomastia

In New York City Gynecomastia is a very common problem. Many people may want to call this a disease, but it is merely a disorder and can be treated quickly and without any side effects or problems. Gynecomastia is largely caused by the imbalance of two natural hormones in the human body, and is only a problem for males.  The two hormones that cause this disorder in males are Estrogen (female hormones) and Androgen (male hormones). For this to happen there should be a significant imbalance, where there is too much Estrogen in the body. The male body needs both hormones to function correctly, but will sometimes stop or slow down the production of Androgen, and in some cases, just speed up the production of Estrogen.

There are many other causes of Gynecomastia, where in some cases it is a symptom of a more problematic disorder or disease like cancer. Cancer is one of the main causes of Gynecomastia, and if you do not get it from cancer, your body may develop it from the use of certain cancer medications. Other causes include the use of anabolic androgenic steroids in men who do weight training and muscle building, like body builders. It is believed that steroids, which are a concentration of the androgen hormone, cut off the body’s natural resource of the hormone, which means that the body is only naturally producing Estrogen at its normal rate. This then causes an imbalance great enough to develop Gynecomastia.

There are different ways to treat this disorder, and because it is such a common problem, where statistics are at about 15 percent for men over the age of 50, and at more than 50 percent for males in their adolescence, there are many New York City Gynecomastia treatment centers you can go to. Some people do not know that they have Gynecomastia, or that what they have even has a name. These men simply wrap themselves up so that no one will know that they have anything wrong with them. For those of you who know, there are many different treatments, and these include surgery, which could be a bit pricey, and drugs, which could be doctor prescribed or over the counter for a cheaper option.
